ACADS Youth Clinical team work to support young people who have concerns about their own, or someone else's alcohol and other drug use. They also supply information & advice to young people in regard to alcohol & other drugs.

Why do young people or their families call us?

Alcohol and drug use may be affecting school or work.

Alcohol and drug use maybe causing problems at home.

They might be using alcohol and drugs to cope with stress or feelings.

They may be worried and want to talk about things.

They may want some information.

What does ACADS Youth Clinical Service offer?

Trained alcohol and other drug counsellors/social worker will answer any questions you may have.

They can offer confidential face to face counselling and youth friendly interventions.

What is counselling what can you expect?

They can undertake brief interventions and supply information and advice on alcohol & other drugs.

They can also support family members and supply information and advice to parents of young people.

They run workshops in both local secondary schools & can offer appointments at school for any young person.

ACADS Youth Clinical Service is mobile and young people can be seen at a place that is comfortable for them eg Schools, community agencies & home as appropriate.

The counsellors can also assess and refer to appropriate support agencies and residential treatment centres.
